The Wye and Usk Foundation have been working for over a year on Resilient Rivers Monnow. At the end of November ’25 we received a detailed model of water movements in the whole Monnow catchment from our external hydrologist. We are working with Monmouthshire Council, Network Rail and Natural Resources Wales and are hoping to have an exciting announcement about funding for the Feasibility Stage of Resilient Rivers Monnow very soon. Resilient Rivers isn’t just an environmental project, it’s an economic and social one too. Landowners are supported to “farm for water” alongside food production, and communities downstream benefit from reduced flood risk, cleaner water and enhanced local biodiversity.
This blog marks the start of our news and updates section. Over the coming months, we’ll share stories from across the catchment, highlight projects in progress, and showcase the people and organisations working to build a more resilient future for our rivers.
Together, we can create landscapes that thrive, whatever the weather brings.
